The Four Immeasurables: Cultivating the Awakened Mind
Cultivating these qualities nurtures an enlightened heart and an awakened mind in every individual. In this 5-week course, we will explore the roots of these practices, as taught by the Buddha himself over two thousand five hundred years ago.
Description
The course will begin ONLINE on February 6th from 2:00-3:30 PM MT, and will take place every Friday until March 6th.
The four immeasurables—loving-kindness, compassion, altruistic joy, and equanimity—are
essential qualities that open our hearts and lay the foundation for personal growth. These
qualities are crucial for developing bodhicitta, the awakening mind that aspires to
enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. Cultivating these qualities nurtures an
enlightened heart and an awakened mind in every individual. In this 5-week course, we will
explore the roots of these practices, as taught by the Buddha himself over two thousand five
hundred years ago. Additionally, structured meditation practices have been developed to
cultivate these immeasurables, offering a path to inner peace and happiness through
intentional, dedicated effort.
