I took the compassion training course last year and it has completely transformed my life. I’ve never seen a Buddhist nun be so embodied in work that bridges contemplation, meditation, common humanity, and science. As a PT, I found myself in better relationship with my patients, happier in life, and my family is more peaceful. I would have never guessed this was possible. Thank you CHI. Can’t wait for next year’s refresher!

Attending meditation classes with Sucandra has been an immensely fruitful experience for me. Through her guidance, I have developed a deeper ability to obtain equanimity amid paradox and complexity, learning to hold opposing experiences with balance and openness. The classes encouraged me to explore the nature of my mind with both compassion and curiosity, fostering self-awareness without judgment. I also deeply appreciate that Sucandra embodies a legitimate and authentic approach to meditation, as she is well-rooted in both Western and Eastern traditions and scholarship, pursuing a PhD that bridges these worlds thoughtfully. This integration enriches her teaching and makes her guidance both accessible and profound. Overall, her classes have been transformative in helping me cultivate a stable, compassionate presence within the dynamic nature of my mind and experience.

I’ve struggled to establish a consistent meditation practice for years, but the instruction I’ve received at CHI has truly made the difference. The small class setting allowed for personal attention, and the instructor helped me tailor a program that fits my individual needs and lifestyle.
